Drama 'The Dream Life of Mr. Kim' Sees 30-Fold Surge in Original Webtoon Views

Thanks to the popularity of the JTBC drama 〈The Dream Life of Mr. Kim〉, the views of the webtoon of the same name have surged, drawing attention to the phenomenon of the completed work's resurgence.

Naver Webtoon announced on the 7th that the views of the webtoon 'The Dream Life of Mr. Kim' increased more than 30 times during the two weeks following the drama's first broadcast (October 25 to November 7) compared to the two weeks before the first teaser was released (September 11 to 24).

The original work is a novel of the same name published in 2021, which was adapted into a webtoon in December 2023 and completed in August of this year.

Typically, completed works tend to see a decline in views over time, but interest in the original was reignited following the release of the drama teaser video, leading to an upward trend in views.

In line with the drama's airing, a side story of 'The Dream Life of Mr. Kim' is also being serialized. The side story, consisting of a total of 10 episodes, currently highlights Mr. Kim's early days as a new employee, expanding the original work's universe.
