Marvel star Xochitl Gomez made headlines with her special appearance in the 'Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) Season 34' relay dance round, partnering with Robert Irwin.
Gomez is the youngest winner of Season 32 (at 17 years old), having won the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy with her partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy in 2023.
A Winning Performance Reflecting Mexican Heritage
Famous for her role as America Chavez in 'Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness', Gomez was born in 2006 to Mexican parents. She emphasized the importance of accurately representing Mexican culture through Latin ballroom dance during her time on DWTS.
In fact, during the Season 32 finale, she and Chmerkovskiy delivered an emotional freestyle performance decorated with Day of the Dead altars and marigolds, securing their victory. She is the second Latina woman to win after Laurie Hernandez.
Overcoming Minor's Handicap with 'Talent and Focus'
Despite having one less day of practice than other contestants due to minor filming restrictions, Gomez showcased remarkable focus and talent. Partner Chmerkovskiy praised her, stating, "Xochitl is an amazing student with incredible talent and focus".
Gomez is also solidifying her position as a dancer by participating in the 2024 'Dancing with the Stars Live Tour'.
