Actress Kim Ji-won Confirmed as Lead in SBS Drama 'Doctor X: The Era of the White Mafia'

SBS officially announced on the 18th that actress Kim Ji-won will star in the new Friday-Saturday drama 〈Doctor X: The Era of the White Mafia〉 set to air in 2026.

This drama is a medical noir genre that depicts the process of genius surgeon Kye Soo-jung (played by Kim Ji-won) confronting corruption and power structures within the hospital, dispatched to fill the surgical staff vacancy at Gu Seo University Hospital.

With the confirmation of veteran actors joining alongside Kim Ji-won, the quality of the production is expected to rise. Lee Jung-eun will play the role of Jang Hee-sook, the head of a 'doctor service introduction agency' who is obsessed with money, showcasing her unique charisma, while Son Hyun-joo will appear as the hospital director Boo Seung-kwon at the Gu Seo University Hospital branch.

Rising actor Kim Woo-seok will portray intern Park Tae-kyung, who comes from a wealthy background and experiences unexpected changes in his hospital life due to his encounter with Kye Soo-jung.
