
Actor Kim Woo-seok will appear in the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama 〈Doctor X: The Era of the White Mafia〉.
On the 18th, the production team of SBS drama 〈Doctor X: The Era of the White Mafia〉 (hereafter 〈Doctor X〉) announced the confirmation of Kim Woo-seok's casting alongside Kim Ji-won, Lee Jung-eun, and Son Hyun-joo. 〈Doctor X: The Era of the White Mafia〉 is a medical noir drama where the doctor who captures doctors, 'Doctor X' Kye Soo-jung (Kim Ji-won), confronts the medical power stained with corruption.
In the drama, Kim Woo-seok plays the role of Park Tae-kyung, a privileged intern whose hospital life becomes complicated after meeting Kye Soo-jung. Park Tae-kyung, the only son of a large hospital family in a provincial metropolis, is a character with a kind and warm perspective. Kim Woo-seok returns to drama after about 3 years since the MBC drama 〈The Forbidden Marriage〉 aired in 2022. During this time, he has been recognized as a rising star with a wide acting spectrum, portraying convincing narratives in each character he played in dramas such as 〈Voice〉 Seasons 2 and 3, 〈The Half of Half〉, 〈Military Prosecutor Doberman〉, 〈The Forbidden Marriage〉, the musical 〈Red Book〉, 〈Thrill Me〉, and 〈The Time of Dogs and Cats〉.
Kim Ji-won plays the title role of 'Doctor X' Kye Soo-jung, a genius surgeon affiliated with the Jang Hee-sook Medical Introduction Agency. Lee Jung-eun plays Jang Hee-sook, the head of the agency who is obsessed with money, while Son Hyun-joo appears as the hospital director Boo Seung-kwon of the Gu Seo University Hospital branch.
The medical noir SBS new Friday-Saturday drama 〈Doctor X: The Era of the White Mafia〉 is set to air in 2026.
