The Netflix original series 'You Killed Me' has caused a global sensation by reaching the top of the global streaming chart just two weeks after its release.

According to the data released by Netflix's official site Tudum on the 19th, 'You Killed Me' recorded 7.8 million views from October 10 to 16, securing the 1st place in the global Netflix TV Show category. This achievement includes both non-English and English content, once again proving the global competitiveness of K-dramas.

Ranked No. 1 in Non-English Shows in 20 Countries

'You Killed Me' has achieved the number one spot in the non-English show category in a total of 20 countries, including Bolivia, Chile, Egypt, the Philippines, Vietnam, and South Korea, gaining overwhelming popularity across a wide range of regions. This shows that the themes of domestic violence and women's solidarity resonate universally across cultures.

Lee Yoo-mi and Jeon So-nee star in this series, which is based on the bestselling novel 'Naomi and Kanako' by Japanese author Hideo Okuda. The story compellingly depicts the process of Eun-soo (played by Jeon So-nee), who lives with her father's domestic violence trauma, and Hee-soo (played by Lee Yoo-mi), who suffers from her husband's violence, as they come to understand each other's pain and conspire to make extreme choices.

The series started at 8th place in the non-English series ranking when it premiered on the 7th, but its intense story and the actors' performances quickly propelled it to the top in just two weeks, showcasing its strong potential. The view count is calculated by dividing the total viewing time by the runtime of the work.

Proving the Global Competitiveness of Korean Content

Meanwhile, during the same period, SBS's new Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Kiss for No Reason!' ranked 3rd with 6.1 million views in the Netflix non-English show category. Additionally, the variety show 'Physical: Asia' also recorded 2.5 million views, ranking 8th, further proving the global competitiveness of Korean content across both dramas and variety shows.
