Actors Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin made history by becoming the first couple to win both Best Actor and Best Actress awards at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards.

At the awards ceremony held on the 19th at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, Hyun Bin won the Best Actor award for his role as Ahn Jung-geun in the film 〈Harbin〉, where he delicately expressed deep human anguish and strength. His wife Son Ye-jin also won the Best Actress award for her role as 'Miri', the wife who stands by her husband who has been fired in the film 〈I Can't Help It〉, recognized for her strong inner performance leading a shaky family. This is the first time in the 46-year history of the Blue Dragon Film Awards that a couple has won Best Actor and Best Actress at the same ceremony. The two developed their relationship into a romance in the 2019 drama 〈Crash Landing on You〉 and have been beloved as a star couple in the entertainment industry since their marriage in 2022.

Meanwhile, Hyun Bin expressed his deep family love in his acceptance speech, saying, "I am grateful to Ye-jin, who gives strength just by being there, and to our son." Son Ye-jin shared her honest feelings, stating, "I received my second Best Actress award after turning forty. Becoming a mother has changed the way the world sees me."

At the ceremony, the film 〈I Can't Help It〉 garnered attention by winning six awards, including Best Picture, Best Director (Park Chan-wook), and Best Actress (Son Ye-jin). Director Park Chan-wook received his fourth Blue Dragon Director Award following 〈Joint Security Area〉, 〈Oldboy〉, and 〈Decision to Leave〉. The Best Supporting Actor award went to Lee Sung-min for 〈I Can't Help It〉, while the Best Supporting Actress award went to Park Ji-hyun for 〈Hidden Face〉. The hit film 〈Zombie Daughter〉, which attracted 5.63 million viewers, won the Most Popular Audience Award. This year's Blue Dragon Film Awards selected the final winners in each category through expert surveys, a jury panel, and netizen voting, targeting Korean films released in theaters or on OTT from October 2024 for one year.
