Thanksgiving Cooking Delegated to His Two Sons... "Will Only Oversee the Meal for 40 Family Members"
American celebrity chef Guy Fieri, known for his spiky platinum hair and flashy shirts, suffered a serious leg injury while filming and underwent emergency surgery.
According to local media including Fox News Digital on the 27th (local time), Guy Fieri had an accident while filming his new series 'Flavor Town Food Fight' when he slipped on stairs. He described the tense situation at the time, saying, "I misstepped on the stairs, one foot went forward, and the other foot got caught on the threshold, causing the accident."
◆ Doctor: "Muscle Ruptured to an Explosive Level... Very Rare Case"
The extent of the injury was severe. Guy's attending physician remarked, "I have treated patients for 20 years, but this is the first time I have seen the central part of such a thick and large quadriceps muscle torn in half," expressing astonishment.
Typically, muscle ruptures occur at the tendon area where the muscle connects to the bone, but in Guy's case, it was confirmed that the center of the muscle literally "exploded." The medical team performed immediate emergency surgery to prevent muscle atrophy.
At the time of the accident, 125 staff and chefs were on site. The production team demonstrated their dedication by continuing filming with 'creative filming techniques' even in the emergency situation of Guy undergoing surgery. Guy is currently recovering at his ranch home in Santa Rosa, California.
◆ Instead of a Cooking Knife, a Baton... Sons' 'Kitchen Debut'
Due to this injury, Guy will have to rely on a wheelchair and crutches for the next 8 weeks, followed by a long period in a cast and rehabilitation therapy. Most importantly, on today (27th, Thanksgiving), he is unable to hold a cooking knife.
Instead, his two supportive sons, Hunter and Ryder, donned aprons. Notably, the youngest, Ryder, texted his father from school, saying, "I think the time has come to showcase all the training and cooking skills I've learned," expressing confidence.
In response, Guy said, "I'm really glad you requested it first without me asking you to." This year, about 40 guests were invited to the Fieri family's Thanksgiving dinner. It seems that Guy Fieri will have to be satisfied with the role of 'head chef' overseeing the dinner prepared by his sons and nephew Jules while sitting in a wheelchair.
