Eminem to Serve as Executive Producer Until 2027... "The Highest Level of Performance Will Continue"
Two music icons symbolizing Detroit, Jack White and Eminem, heated up Ford Field on Thanksgiving.
During the Thanksgiving match between the NFL's Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers held on the 27th (local time), rock musician Jack White took the stage. The performance particularly drew global music fans' attention as Detroit-born rapper Eminem made a surprise guest appearance, showcasing a cross-genre collaboration.
◆ Explosive Synergy of Rock and Hip-Hop
Jack White opened the performance with the track 'That's How I'm Feeling' from his 2024 album 'No Name'. The moment his signature rough guitar riffs filled the stadium, Eminem appeared on stage, and the crowd's cheers reached a peak.
The two performed a hard rock version of Eminem's classic hit ''Till I Collapse'. Eminem's rapid-fire rap layered over Jack White's intense guitar playing provided a catharsis that broke down genre barriers.
The finale was adorned by 'Seven Nation Army', which is almost the 'official anthem' of sports venues worldwide. Jack White, along with the Lions cheerleaders, created a grand stage, showcasing his pride for his hometown team.
◆ Eminem, Beyond Just an Appearance, as a 'Planner'
This halftime show is significant as it marks the first stage planned by Eminem and his manager Paul Rosenberg as 'Executive Producers'.
The Lions organization announced that Eminem and Rosenberg will oversee the selection and production of performers for the Thanksgiving halftime show until 2027. Lions owner Rod Wood expressed his excitement, stating, "I am pleased to be working with Marshall (Eminem's real name) and Paul, who are among the most respected figures in the music industry and long-time Lions fans. Their reputation and insight will contribute to creating top-level performances in the future."
◆ Jack White's Grand Return After Induction into the 'Hall of Fame'
Earlier this month, the stage was even more special for Jack White, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with his band 'The White Stripes'. With 12 Grammy Awards to his name, he showcased his presence while celebrating his induction in front of his hometown fans.
Meanwhile, before the game started, gospel legend from Detroit CeCe Winans sang the national anthem, inspiring pride in the 'Motor City'.
