Yoo Ji-tae and Lee Min-jung Star in 'Villains', Premiering on the 18th on Tving... Simultaneous Launch in 17 Asia-Pacific Countries

The Tving Original Series 〈Villains〉, starring Yoo Ji-tae and Lee Min-jung, will unveil on the 18th.

According to Tving on the 1st, this work will be released simultaneously in 17 Asia-Pacific countries through HBO Max, as well as entering the Japanese market via Disney+ Japan.

〈Villains〉 is a crime action genre that depicts a fierce battle of wits among villains centered around the ultra-precise counterfeit currency 'Supernote'. Directed by Jin Hyuk, known for the dramas 〈Sisyphus〉, 〈Legend of the Blue Sea〉, and 〈The Sun's Owner〉, the screenplay is written by Kim Hyung-jun, who directed the film 〈No Mercy〉.

Yoo Ji-tae plays a genius brain who designs the perfect crime under the hidden identity of code name J. Lee Min-jung takes on the role of Han Soo-hyun, a talented banknote design artist. Lee Bum-soo plays Cha Ki-tae, the former head of the National Intelligence Service's financial crime team who is tracking J, while Kwon Do-won appears as the corrupt detective Jang Joong-hyuk, who intercepts criminals' money.

This work is also noteworthy as it marks Kwon Do-won's return to drama after a three-year hiatus due to a drunk driving controversy. Kwon Do-won was fined for driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.158% in Jeju Island in September 2022, which led to the indefinite postponement of the release of 〈Villains〉, which was completed in 2022, until it was confirmed for release after three years.

Kwon Do-won, who meets the audience for the first time since 〈There’s No Such Thing as a Free Lunch〉 in 2022, was not included in this release poster.
