Japanese Anime 'Girls Band Cry' to be Adapted into Webtoon in Korea

〈Girls Band Cry〉 is being reborn as a webtoon in Korea.

The Japanese animation 〈Girls Band Cry〉 depicts the journey of girls, each with their own wounds, overcoming their struggles through music and transforming into one band. Toei Animation, responsible for the planning and production of the animation, is jointly producing the webtoon with the Korean publisher Aitempo Media, targeting the global market.

The production is handled by Aitempo Media, which specializes in publishing webtoons, web novels, and comic books. This project will be carried out in a co-production manner between Toei Animation and Aitempo Media. Both companies plan to showcase the work not only in Korea and Japan but also in the global market. They will distribute the first promotional materials at the 'AGF2025 (Anime × Game Festival)' held in Korea on December 5, marking the start of full-scale promotion.

The 〈Girls Band Cry〉 series, which concluded in a single season in 2024, recently received cheers from fans when it announced the production of a new theatrical version during a live concert.
