SBS's Wednesday-Thursday drama 〈Dynamite Kiss!〉 has taken over the Netflix global charts, proving the spicy flavor of K-content.

According to Netflix's official tally site 'Netflix Top 10' (Tudum), 〈Dynamite Kiss!〉 recorded 5.5 million views from the 24th to the 30th of last month, ranking No. 1 in the non-English TV series category. It started at No. 3 in its first week, climbed to No. 2 in the second week, and finally reached the top in the third week. Notably, it has achieved explosive reactions by ranking No. 1 in 47 countries worldwide, including South American countries like Brazil, Chile, and Bolivia.

The drama depicts the precarious romance between a single woman, Go Da-rim (played by Ahn Eun-jin), who disguises herself as a working mom for survival, and her straightforward boss, Gong Ji-hyuk (played by Jang Ki-yong), who falls helplessly for her. Industry insiders analyze that "the bold kiss scenes that burst from the first episode and the stylish twist on K-romance clichés(Cliché·trite expressions or scenes) accurately targeted the needs of the global fandom."

Not only in romance but also in the genres of variety and thriller, the rise of Korean content has been remarkable.

The variety show 〈Three Idiots in Kenya〉, which has garnered attention as a new challenge by PD Na Young-seok, recorded 1.9 million views, securing the 5th position in the non-English category. Following that, the thriller series 〈You Killed Me〉, which deals with the tragedy of domestic violence and revenge, ranked 6th with 1.8 million views, proving the genre diversity of K-content.

Meanwhile, in the English series category, 〈Stranger Things〉 Season 5, considered the most anticipated Netflix project of all time, recorded an astonishing 59.6 million views, taking the top spot. This season, which marks the conclusion of the epic saga that began in 2016, showcases a grander scale and narrative set in Hawkins, Indiana, attracting viewers worldwide.
