The 'music report card' that 700 million people around the world have been waiting for has arrived. The ultimate winner of the 2025 Spotify streaming war is Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny.
On the 3rd (local time), Spotify officially unveiled its annual music summary campaign 'Spotify Wrapped 2025'. This year, Bad Bunny's return, which stopped Taylor Swift's dominance, and the feature improvements reflecting user feedback stood out.
◆ Bad Bunny Surpasses Taylor Swift... Fourth Time at Number One
The biggest surprise was in the 'Global Top Artist' ranking. Bad Bunny achieved an astonishing 19.8 billion streams worldwide this year, taking the top spot. He pushed Taylor Swift, who had held the top position for the past two years, to second place, claiming his fourth crown.
His album 'Debí Tirar Más Fotos' also topped the 'most streamed album' category, marking a double celebration. The top artists in 3rd to 5th places were The Weeknd, Drake, and Billie Eilish, respectively.
◆ Song of the Year is Gaga & Bruno Mars
The 'most streamed song' that captivated the ears of the world in 2025 was the duet 'Die With A Smile' by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. Billie Eilish's emotional track 'Birds of a Feather' took second place.
In the podcast category, 'The Joe Rogan Experience' maintained its unshakeable number one position, while in audiobooks, Rebecca Yarros' fantasy novel 'Fourth Wing' surged from last year's 10th place to this year's number one.
◆ "Complaints Received"... Returning Features and New Party
This year's Wrapped listened to the voices of users. Spotify revived the 'Top Albums' and 'Top Genres' features that were excluded last year, which had drawn public outcry. Additionally, the 'Top Songs' feature was improved to allow users to check the exact listening counts for the top 100 songs.
The new feature 'Wrapped Party' also caught attention. It is an interactive feature that allows users to invite friends to compare and analyze each other's music tastes in real-time, maximizing the fun of social sharing.
Meanwhile, Spotify currently boasts 713 million monthly active users (MAU) and 281 million paid subscribers across 180 countries, recording overwhelming growth with increases of 87 million and 35 million, respectively, compared to the previous year.
