〈28 Years Later〉 is set to begin production on the third installment, which will conclude the trilogy.

〈28 Years Later〉 is a direct sequel to 〈28 Days Later〉, depicting the story of the civilization that survived in a world ravaged by a zombie virus and the boy Spike. This work, which reunites director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland from the original 〈28 Days Later〉, declared the trilogy from the start. However, while production for the second film, 〈28 Years Later: The Temple of Bones〉, was initiated, the production of the third film was undecided.

Fortunately, it seems we will be able to see the trilogy as planned. On December 10 (local time), the media outlet 'Deadline' reported that Sony Pictures has approved the production of 〈28 Years Later〉 3. The second film, directed by Nia DaCosta, 〈28 Years Later: The Temple of Bones〉, received positive feedback at a private screening, leading Sony Pictures to approve the production of the third film. In particular, rumors suggest that Cillian Murphy, who returns in the second film, is also in discussions to appear in the third film, raising expectations even higher.

〈28 Years Later: The Temple of Bones〉 is expected to continue the story from the ending of the first film, where Spike (Alfie Williams) encounters a cult led by Jimmy Crystal (Jack O'Connell). Not only these two actors but also Ralph Fiennes, who appeared in the first film, is set to return.
