
A star comedian who dominated 90s TV shows was on the brink of death on the cold steps of Hollywood. Andy Dick (59) narrowly escaped a drug overdose crisis.
According to local media including TMZ, Andy Dick was found unconscious on the steps of a building in Hollywood on the afternoon of the 9th.
◆ 'Fear of Death' Captured on Live Broadcast
The situation was fully captured on a live streaming camera by a witness present at the scene. In the video, Andy Dick was slumped motionless, and his trademark glasses were lying on the ground, abandoned.
As nearby friends tried to shake him awake but received no response, the scene quickly turned chaotic. The video captured frantic calls for an ambulance along with a voice shouting, 'Bring Narcan!' Narcan is an emergency antidote that revives breathing in cases of opioid (narcotic painkiller) overdose.
◆ Ambulance Dispatch, But Refusal to Transport
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) and police, who responded to the report, provided emergency treatment for the suspected overdose patient on the scene. Fortunately, Andy Dick regained consciousness after receiving Narcan nasal spray.
However, as soon as Andy Dick came to, he refused to be transported to the hospital. He briefly stated in a call with TMZ, "I am alive and relieved to be okay," but remained tight-lipped about the specifics of the incident.

Andy Dick, who gained fame from 'NewsRadio' and 'The Ben Stiller Show', has been battling drug addiction for decades. In a 2016 interview, he confessed, "I have already undergone rehab treatment over 20 times" and lamented, "Drugs have become no longer fun for me."
