On the 9th (local time), during the fourth part of the 'Today' show, Jenna Bush Hager introduced Sheinelle Jones as a regular co-host with tears, saying, "Today I found my forever friend, and we will start a new journey in January."

Upon her return in September, Jones moved viewers to tears by describing her husband's death as a "beautiful nightmare." She stated, "We must move forward. I hope that by seeing me back on set and returning to work, someone will gain the courage to think, 'If she can do it, I can too.'"
