'The Master of the World' Seo Su-bin Wins Best Actress at the 5th Red Sea International Film Festival

Seo Su-bin, the lead actress of the film 〈The Master of the World〉, won the Best Actress award at the 5th Red Sea International Film Festival held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It is an extraordinary achievement for a rising star of Korean independent cinema to win the Best Actress award at a prestigious international film festival with her feature debut, and it has been reported that the award was decided unanimously by the jury.

〈The Master of the World〉 tells the story of an enigmatic eighteen-year-old high school girl, 'Juin', who begins to receive mysterious notes after refusing to participate in a signature campaign involving the entire student body. Since its release on October 22, it has surpassed 170,000 viewers, recording the strongest box office performance among Korean independent live-action features this year.

Seo Su-bin is a newcomer discovered by director Yoon Ga-eun through auditions, and 〈The Master of the World〉 is her first feature film and debut work. With almost no acting experience, she was cast as the protagonist due to her flexibility and uniqueness shown during the audition, and after the release, she received rave reviews from critics both domestically and internationally, with comments like "astonishing performance" and "the birth of a monster rookie."
