Jung Woo-sung shared about his first collaboration with Hyun Bin, saying, "We briefly met in the movie 〈HARBIN〉, but this is the first time I've worked closely with Hyun Bin like this. At first, I was very cautious and nervous, but I could see the tension gradually easing up as we went along."
〈Made in Korea〉 is set in the 1970s and depicts the fierce confrontation between Baek Ki-tae (Hyun Bin), who lives a double life as a Central Intelligence Agency agent by day and a smuggler by night, and prosecutor Jang Geon-young (Jung Woo-sung), who tries to stop him.

Jung Woo-sung mentioned, "Since it was my first time meeting a new character, I had to be cautious. It was also fun to observe how Hyun Bin prepared for the character Baek Ki-tae and showed up on set." He added, "In Season 1, there was a lot of fun in observing, but now while filming Season 2, it feels like our chemistry is coming together."
Hyun Bin also said, "I analyzed Baek Ki-tae in my own way and so did senior Jung Woo-sung. A lot more was created on set than what we prepared while looking at the script," he responded, adding, "As my reactions changed based on the ideas given by the senior, I felt the work becoming richer while filming."
⬦ "Today is a Gathering for the Work"…Facing Personal Life Issues Head-On
Meanwhile, Jung Woo-sung was asked about his personal life during this event. He welcomed a son with model Moon Ga-bi at the end of last year, and it was revealed that he registered his marriage with his girlfriend this year. In response to reporters' questions, Jung Woo-sung said, "I understand what you are asking, but today is a gathering for the work 〈Made in Korea〉 with many actors present. I hope you understand that I cannot talk extensively about my personal feelings or changes."
Actor Jung Sung-il, who recently made headlines for his divorce, also stated, "I did my best for the work, so there is nothing to be concerned about. This is a project that not only I but also the director, actors, and staff all worked passionately on."

Hyun Bin described Baek Ki-tae, the character he plays, as the most ambitious character he has ever portrayed.
He said, "After reading the script, I pondered a lot about where Baek Ki-tae's aggressive ambition came from. It might have been due to the deficiencies and anxieties he had since childhood, as well as the sense of responsibility as a head of the family to protect his home, which I think gradually grew into ambition."
This work also marks Hyun Bin's first venture into OTT. He expressed, "I am excited and thrilled to have the opportunity to meet viewers around the world through the OTT platform."
Regarding reuniting with director Woo Min-ho after the movie 〈HARBIN〉, he said, "I had a lot of trust working with director Woo Min-ho on 〈HARBIN〉, and he has the ability to draw out new sides of actors, so it is a great joy for an actor to work with such a director."
⬦ Is it a Spin-off of 〈The Drug King〉? Director Woo Min-ho: "NO, It's a Completely Different Story"

Director Woo Min-ho, who directed the films 〈Inside Men〉, 〈The Man Standing Next〉, 〈The Drug King〉, and 〈HARBIN〉, is taking on his first series direction with this work. He stated, "Gathering these actors in one project is really not an easy task. Fortunately, a good opportunity came to me, and I filmed this project with the most fun and I think it will be the most enjoyable. There are many excellent dramas in Korea, but I dare say that this work is not lacking in quality."
Additionally, director Woo clarified that 〈Made in Korea〉 is not a spin-off of his film 〈The Drug King〉 (2018). He said, "〈The Drug King〉 did not receive good reviews commercially or critically, so I want to say that it is not a spin-off."
He also explained the production background, saying, "I was born in the 1970s. I really wanted to create that era properly. Korea has a unique dynamic energy compared to other countries. I have always been curious about where this energy comes from, and I think it was in the 1970s."
The first season of 〈Made in Korea〉 consists of six episodes, with the first two episodes premiering on the 24th. The next two episodes will be released on the 31st, and the remaining episodes will be released one by one on January 7th and 14th next year.
