A 20-year-old college student from Texas, who was contemplating his career path, has become the next voice of America. And his coach, Niall Horan, has built a new dynasty on 'The Voice'.
In the final broadcast of NBC 'The Voice' Season 28 aired on the 17th (local time on the night of the 16th), Aiden Ross from Team Niall lifted the championship trophy after viewer voting.
◆ "I Saw the Light at the End of the Tunnel"
Aiden Ross was an ordinary college student majoring in Industrial Distribution at Texas A&M University. Walking a path away from music, he experienced a turning point in his life with this victory, winning a $100,000 prize and a record deal with Universal Music Group.
In his victory speech, he confessed, "I wasn't sure if there was a place for me in music," and said, "But as the competition went on, I felt the light at the end of the tunnel getting brighter and brighter," moving many hearts. Ross was already seen as a strong contender for the win after perfectly performing Adele's 'Love in the Dark' during the blind auditions, turning all four coaches' chairs (4-Chair Turn).
◆ Niall Horan Becomes the New 'Winning Specialist'
This victory is monumental for coach Niall Horan as well. He has achieved the remarkable record of 'three-peat' by consecutively producing winners in the recent seasons he participated in. Just before the results were announced, Horan assured Ross, "You are undoubtedly a special talent," expressing confidence in his protégé's future.
◆ A Glamorous Finale, and the Return of Legends
The finale stage was heated up with congratulatory performances from top artists like Noah Cyrus, Jack Brown, and Riley Green.
Meanwhile, NBC thrilled fans with a preview of Season 29, which will start on February 23 next year. Season 29 will be themed 'Battle of Champions', featuring legendary coaches including Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend, who will make a grand return for an unprecedented competition.
