"All Will Be Disclosed." Steven Spielberg returns to the genre he does best, 'Encounters with the Unknown'.
On the 16th (local time), Universal Pictures officially released the first trailer for Steven Spielberg's new SF film 'Disclosure Day'. This trailer is also set to be featured as a theater advertisement before the screening of James Cameron's 'Avatar: The Way of Water', which opens on the 19th, hinting at an overwhelming scale.
◆ The Unknown Terror During Live Broadcast
The released trailer is intense. The weathercaster played by Emily Blunt suddenly freezes as if caught by an invisible unknown force while delivering the weather live. Her gaze changes, and the studio is engulfed in fear.
Following this, Josh O'Connor struggles to uncover the truth about extraterrestrial life, while the renowned actor Colin Firth appears as a scientist connected to an unidentified mechanical device, heightening the tension.
◆ Spielberg X David Koepp Reunion
'Disclosure Day' is Spielberg's directorial work released four years after his semi-autobiographical film 'The Fabelmans (2022)'. Notably, he has chosen the UFO genre again, having written the textbook for alien-themed films through 'E.T.', 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind', and 'War of the Worlds', garnering exceptional interest in the film industry.
The screenplay is entrusted to David Koepp, Spielberg's long-time partner who co-wrote the myths of 'Jurassic Park' and 'War of the Worlds', adding to the trust. A solid supporting cast including Coleman Domingo, Wyatt Russell, and Eve Hewson has also joined.
◆ Strict Secrecy Strategy
The production team is keeping the specific plot thoroughly secret except for the catchphrase "All Will Be Disclosed." Mysterious phrases displayed on major billboards in New York and Los Angeles are stimulating the audience's curiosity.
Another shock brought by the king of SF, 'Disclosure Day' is set to be released in theaters worldwide on June 12, 2026.
