'Vengeance Ghost' Kim Yoo-jung, Park Ji-hwan, Jo Yeo-jung Cast Confirmed... Birth of a Fantasy Occult Comedy

Director Hong Ui-jung, recognized for her unique directing skills through 〈Soundlessly〉, has completed the glamorous casting lineup for her new work 〈Vengeance Ghost〉 (tentative title) and has officially begun production.

The film 〈Vengeance Ghost〉 is a fantasy occult comedy that tells the story of a ghost named ‘Yoon-ha’ who lost her life in an unjust accident, teaming up with a ‘goblin’ who dreams of becoming human, struggling to save her younger brother who is in danger.

A Unique Cast of Trustworthy Actors

First, actress Kim Yoo-jung takes on the role of the protagonist ‘Yoon-ha’, showcasing a bold transformation. Yoon-ha, who left the world due to an unfortunate accident, is a character who cannot leave the afterlife to protect her younger brother, and Kim Yoo-jung's unique depth in acting is expected to enhance this role.

Park Ji-hwan, who has showcased his presence on both screen and television, plays the ‘goblin’ who has longed for human life for 400 years. He will emit unexpected chemistry with Yoon-ha, who freed him from his seal, injecting delightful energy into the film. Veteran actress Jo Yeo-jung joins in to regulate the tension of the story. Jo Yeo-jung will portray ‘Joo-bo’, a shaman chasing the ghost Yoon-ha, building a strong character that connects the living and the dead.

In addition, actors such as Ji Il-joo, Yoo Jae-myung, and Baek Hyun-jin, who boast solid filmographies, will join the cast, adding diverse charm.

KT Studio Genie’s First Original Film Project

〈Vengeance Ghost〉 has already garnered high expectations from the production stage as it is the next work of director Hong Ui-jung, who won the Best New Director Award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards and Baeksang Arts Awards with her debut film.

In particular, this project is significant as it is KT Studio Genie’s first original film project in which they are fully involved in co-providing, distributing, and marketing. The main investment is handled by the professional investment firm Solaire Partners, which is expected to deliver a high-quality work based on solid capital.

Armed with a fresh setting and overwhelming casting, 〈Vengeance Ghost〉 has kicked off production with its first shoot starting on November 17.
