Broadcaster Jeon Hyun-moo took a bold step by releasing 9-year-old medical records to prove his innocence as he faces a police investigation over the past 'vehicle IV' controversy.
According to reports on the 23rd, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul has confirmed that it has launched an investigation into Jeon Hyun-moo for alleged violations of medical laws based on a complaint received through the National Petition.
The video at the center of the controversy is a scene from the MBC entertainment program 〈I Live Alone〉 aired in 2016. At that time, Jeon Hyun-moo was captured receiving an IV injection inside a vehicle, and this scene has recently spread through online communities, leading to legal controversies. It is reported that the complainants are demanding an investigation not only into Jeon Hyun-moo but also into the individuals who provided medical treatment at that time.

In response, Jeon Hyun-moo's agency SM C&C presented 'physical evidence' instead of mere explanations. The agency released a copy of the 9-year-old medical records in an official statement, explaining that "treatment was conducted primarily with antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, and gastrointestinal medications based on diagnoses of pharyngitis, laryngitis, and gastroesophageal reflux."
In particular, they stated, "The IV treatment was part of a medical procedure to assist in treatment, and the medical treatment provided to Jeon Hyun-moo at that time was a legitimate medical act conducted in a medical institution under the judgment of medical personnel."
Regarding the issue of medical waste disposal raised by some, the agency clarified, "Following the procedures advised by medical personnel, we returned the medical waste that had been stored during a hospital revisit on January 26."
Meanwhile, as it was revealed that broadcaster Park Na-rae received illegal treatment from an unlicensed medical practitioner, interest in illegal medical practices in the entertainment industry is rising. Key from the group SHINee and YouTuber Lip Short Sun have acknowledged receiving treatment from the so-called 'Injection Aunt' and have suspended their activities, leading to renewed scrutiny of Jeon Hyun-moo's case.
The police plan to investigate the legality of the medical practices and the individuals involved based on the contents of the complaint.
