The largest sports event in the United States and a spectacle watched by the world, the 60th Super Bowl (Super Bowl LX), is just 3 weeks away. This year's event coincides with the Winter Olympics for the second time in history, heralding an unprecedented 'Sports Big Week'.
Super Bowl LX will kick off with a grand ceremony on Sunday, February 8, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
◆ A Return After 10 Years, the 60th Festival Held in Silicon Valley
This Super Bowl returns to Levi's Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers, exactly 10 years after 'Super Bowl 50' in 2016. This stadium, which can accommodate over 70,000 people, is located in the heart of Silicon Valley and symbolizes the fusion of cutting-edge technology and sports. The NFL selected this venue for the 60th anniversary celebration through a direct selection process rather than competitive bidding in May 2023.
◆ Super Bowl X and the Winter Olympics... NBC's Mega Project
This year's Super Bowl will take place during the 2026 Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo Winter Olympics (starting February 6). This is the second time in history that two mega events, the Olympics and the Super Bowl, will be broadcast simultaneously by the host broadcaster NBC. Sports fans around the world are expected to enjoy the luxury of watching the Olympics during the day and the Super Bowl at night.
◆ A Completely Changed 'Pro Bowl', Integrated into the Super Bowl Festival
Starting this year, the operation of the 'Pro Bowl', which is akin to an All-Star game, will also change. To heighten the excitement for the Super Bowl, the Pro Bowl game will be held on February 3, the Tuesday before the Super Bowl, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. This strategy aims to increase the density of the festival by integrating the previously separate event into Super Bowl Week.
Now, fans are focused on which of the last two teams will head to Levi's Stadium to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
