The group BTS, returning with their new album 'ARIRANG', is pushing for a large-scale performance in the Gwanghwamun area ahead of their March comeback.
According to reports on the 19th, their agency HYBE has recently confirmed that they applied for venue use permission from the National Heritage Committee for a K-pop performance featuring BTS at Gwanghwamun and Gyeongbokgung at the end of March.
The tentative title of the performance is 'K-Heritage and K-pop Fusion Performance', and the requested locations include Gyeongbokgung (Geunjeongjeon, Heungnyemun), Gwanghwamun, and the Gwanghwamun Woldae area (including the walls), as well as Sungnyemun.
The National Heritage Committee's Cultural Heritage Committee is scheduled to review HYBE's application for use permission on the 20th.
A HYBE representative stated, "We are currently discussing the performance in the Gwanghwamun area," and added, "We plan to officially announce once the venue and schedule are finalized."

BTS will make their comeback with the release of their 5th studio album 'ARIRANG' on March 20. The new album is expected to capture their identity as a group that originated in Korea and their deep love and longing.
This is not the first time BTS has performed at Gyeongbokgung. In 2020, they showcased their stage at Gyeongbokgung's Geunjeongjeon and Gyeonghoeru, which was broadcast worldwide through NBC's 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' ('The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon).
