'The East Palace' Nam Joo-hyuk, “It’s an honor to be the only Asian work featured in Netflix's global lineup video”

Nam Joo-hyuk shared his thoughts on participating in a global project.

On January 21, Netflix successfully held 'Next on Netflix 2026 Korea' at the Conrad Seoul Hotel. The event featured key figures from major works of 2026, including Jeon Do-yeon from 〈Possible Love〉, Nam Joo-hyuk from 〈The East Palace〉, Son Ye-jin from 〈Scandal〉, Park Eun-bin from 〈Wonderfuls〉, and Chef Ahn Seong-jae from 〈Black and White Chef〉, who participated in a panel talk.

Actor Nam Joo-hyuk stars in the Netflix series 〈The East Palace〉. 〈The East Palace〉 tells the story of Gu Cheon (Nam Joo-hyuk), who has the ability to traverse the world of ghosts, and the palace maid Ginger (Noh Yoon-seo), who harbors secrets, as they uncover the curse that resides in the East Palace at the call of the king (Jo Seung-woo).

Nam Joo-hyuk has appeared in the Netflix global lineup video as the only Asian work with 〈The East Palace〉. Regarding this, Nam Joo-hyuk stated, “It was a new and meaningful opportunity just to be in a video with Hollywood actors,” and explained about his role in 〈The East Palace〉, saying, “It’s a work I did with director Choi Jung-kyu, and I play a role that has the ability to traverse the world of ghosts.” He also mentioned, “I performed various actions, and I think the various images will look splendid within that,” raising expectations for his action performance.

The Netflix series 〈The East Palace〉 is set to be released in the third quarter of this year.
