Kim Seon-ho Denies Family Corporation Tax Evasion Allegations... Fantagio Says "In Progress of Closing for Theater Activities"

Actor Kim Seon-ho, following his agency colleague Cha Eun-woo, has been embroiled in 'family corporation tax evasion allegations', prompting his agency Fantagio to issue an official statement strongly refuting the claims.

Fantagio stated in an official press release on the 1st, "Kim Seon-ho has signed an exclusive contract with Fantagio under his personal name and is actively working, diligently complying with all legal and tax procedures in all contractual relationships and activities." They further emphasized, "There are no issues regarding the contract and activities of Kim Seon-ho and Fantagio."

The agency also provided a clear stance regarding the corporation in question. They clarified, "The past one-person corporation mentioned in the reports was established for theater production and related activities," adding, "It was absolutely not established for the purpose of intentional tax avoidance or evasion."

Earlier, a media outlet reported that Kim Seon-ho, like his agency colleague Cha Eun-woo, operated a family corporation and recently received a notification from the National Tax Service for a large income tax reassessment. The outlet pointed out that Kim Seon-ho established and operated a separate performance planning company corporation with family members participating as executives at his residence address in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, suggesting the possibility of income circumvention.

In response, Fantagio explained, "Since Kim Seon-ho transferred to Fantagio, actual business activities have not been conducted for over a year," and added, "Currently, we are in the process of closing the business according to relevant laws and procedures."

The agency concluded, "We will continue to comply with all relevant laws and procedures in all activities and do our best to ensure that the actor's activities can proceed without unnecessary misunderstandings."

Kim Seon-ho, who debuted in the 2009 play 〈New Boeing Boeing〉, gained public popularity through the dramas 〈Startup〉 and 〈Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha〉. Last month, he appeared in the Netflix series 〈Can This Love Be Translated?〉 and is currently preparing for the play 〈Secret Passage〉.
