Park Hae-soo X Lee Hee-joon, Collaborating with 'The Hated One' to Catch a Serial Killer... Behind-the-Scenes of 'Scarecrow' Script Reading Revealed

The well-made crime investigation thriller 〈Scarecrow〉 has officially announced its launch.

The new ENA Monday-Tuesday drama 〈Scarecrow〉, set to premiere on April 20, has heightened expectations for the project by revealing the script reading scene where main cast members, including Park Hae-soo and Lee Hee-joon, gathered on the 17th.

〈Scarecrow〉 depicts the story of a detective investigating a serial murder case who unexpectedly forms a collaborative relationship with someone he despises. The narrative unfolds over 30 years, from 1988 to 2019, featuring a thrilling chase for the truth and a dangerous alliance between two men entangled in a fateful connection, promising a unique suspense. Notably, the collaboration between director Park Jun-woo and writer Lee Ji-hyun, who previously worked together on the drama 〈Taxi Driver〉, has also garnered attention.

Park Hae-soo plays the role of the ace detective Kang Tae-joo, who possesses keen observation skills and sharp intuition, leading the drama. After being demoted to his hometown of Gangseong, he faces the dilemma of having to team up with the prosecutor Cha Si-young (Lee Hee-joon), whom he deeply hates, in pursuit of the criminal he desperately wants to catch, enhancing the immersion in the story. Lee Hee-joon portrays the elite prosecutor Cha Si-young, who possesses cold judgment and political acumen, expressing the hidden deficiencies and anxieties behind his dignified exterior with excellent control of pacing, earning admiration.

Additionally, Kwak Sun-young takes on the role of reporter Seo Ji-won from Gangseong Ilbo, showcasing a gentle charisma with her steadfast beliefs, while Song Geon-hee proves his solid acting skills as Lee Gi-beom, who struggles to protect his family and loved ones. Seo Ji-hye appears as Kang Tae-joo's sister and Lee Gi-beom's lover, Kang Soon-young, delicately portraying the emotional changes as their ordinary lives are shaken. Furthermore, talented actors such as Jung Moon-sung, Baek Hyun-jin, and Yoo Seung-mok join the cast, promising a flawless acting feast.
