“The Ultimate Duo” Jo Han-cheol “A chemistry where we spar back and forth with Bae Seong-woo…It was fun to film”

Jo Han-cheol talked about his on-screen chemistry with Bae Seong-woo.

On March 25, the press screening and press conference for 〈The Ultimate Duo〉 were held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall. On this day, Director Park Cheol-hwan, along with actors Bae Seong-woo, Jeong Ga-ram, Jo Han-cheol, and Yoon Kyung-ho, attended and shared stories about 〈The Ultimate Duo〉, which opens in April.

That day, Jo Han-cheol was asked about his acting chemistry with Bae Seong-woo in 〈The Ultimate Duo〉. The character Oh Min-ho—played by Jo Han-cheol—keeps a close watch on Seo Jae-hyeok (Bae Seong-woo), who tries to reopen a past case. Jo Han-cheol said, “(Seong-woo) hyung and I have known each other for a long time, and we’re really like friends.” He added, “When I watched the movie today, I could feel how fun and exciting it was to act with my hyung.” He also shared their special chemistry, saying, “I don’t think either of us is the type of actor who just does things exactly as planned. If one of us throws something out, the other keeps bouncing back—we were able to trust each other and act.”

He also introduced his take on the role of Oh Min-ho: “In all the characters in 〈The Ultimate Duo〉, no one is just one-sided. Oh Min-ho is the same—on the surface, he seems cold in the script, but there’s also another side to him. He’s rational, yet he has an emotional side, too. I was drawn to the role because I liked those layered aspects. I acted with those points in mind.”

Telling the story of detective Seo Jae-hyeok and rookie detective Kim Jung-ho—who find a new clue to a past case—〈The Ultimate Duo〉 opens in theaters on April 2.
