Jang Hang-Jun to Host the 22nd Jecheon International Music Film Festival, Declares an Expansion of Its Scope... Launches a Call for Submissions for Feature and Short Films
“Jang Hang-Jun”, the Executive Committee Chair leading the charge, has kick-started the call for submissions for feature-length and short films for the 22nd “Jecheon International Music Film Festival”, the selection process for this year’s screenings. The call is divided into five key categories in total.
“International Music Film Competition”
“International Competition” (newly established)
“New Talent”
“Non-Competition Section”
“Made in Jecheon” (Films from the Chungcheongbuk-do region)
The most noteworthy change is the newly established “International Competition” section. It reflects a strong determination to go beyond the previous material-based limitation of “music films” and discover outstanding works across a wide range of genres. In particular, with “Jang Hang-Jun”, who took office as head of the executive committee last year and recently set a record for third place in the box office among all works he has directed through his latest directing project, industry observers expect submission interest from both home and abroad to reach a peak. In addition, the “Made in Jecheon” category, which aims to strengthen the self-sustaining power of the local film industry, will serve as a stepping stone for creators by targeting works related to Chungcheongbuk-do produced after January 1, 2024. Submissions can be made online until the 30th via the official website (https://entry.jimff.org/).
