Jecheon International Music & Film Festival Establishes Music Video Awards

The 21st Jecheon International Music & Film Festival (JIMFF) announced on the 28th that it will establish a new award category that highlights the artistic potential of the music video genre.

The festival office stated that through the 'JIMFF Special Choice - Music Video Awards', it plans to select three music videos that possess artistry, creativity, visual beauty, and experimental qualities, awarding a total prize of 6 million KRW. The award breakdown includes 3 million KRW for Best Work, 2 million KRW for Special Award, and 1 million KRW for Rookie Award.

The submission target is music videos produced based on music released through official audio distribution channels after January 1 of last year. There are no genre restrictions, and any domestic or international directors and artists can participate.

Participants wishing to submit must submit screening video links and necessary documents, including the review approval from the Video Rating Board, by the 22nd of next month. The awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on September 5 at the Jecheon Arts Center during the festival period.

This year's festival will take place from September 4 to 9 for six days at various locations in Jecheon, including Mosan Airfield. Notably, the old Megabox Jecheon building will be temporarily used as the main screening venue.
