[First Reactions to the Press Screening]
In the sequel to 〈Baram〉, the so-called 'Ten Million Movie,' 〈Shin-chan〉 will be released on April 22. 〈Shin-chan〉 is a fun and fiery audition-drama where he keeps getting back up and pushing forward, holding onto a single wish: to become an actor even if he keeps getting knocked down and feeling frustrated every time. Here, Cineeplay reporter Kim Ji-yeon shares her review after watching the film at a press screening.
Kim Ji-yeon / ★ / Just because it’s trendy doesn’t mean it all turns into nostalgia
This is a movie for the people who said, 'If you tie your life together, a movie will come out.' What if, instead of wallowing in self-pity, it had been completely straightforward? The things it wants to say all rush out in the last 10 minutes, but the connections to the earlier scenes are flimsy. Just like 〈Baram〉's 'That just won't do~' or 'Forty-five-year-old,' there are plenty of scenes that try to turn into 'meme' moments—and they show up too often, like the movie is trying to escape the algorithm.
