Global Cultural Exchange by the “Daesang Group” Headed to “Europe” Beyond Southeast Asia—Hosting the 6th “Smartphone Film Festival”

“Daesang Group” announced on the 4th that it is recruiting participants for the 6th university “Smartphone Film Festival”, a global cultural exchange project, until the 3rd of next month. As this event will be held on the “Europe” stage for the first time—breaking away from existing Southeast Asian regions—the scale and symbolism are especially notable.

After a rigorous document screening process, the 48 selected university student participants will form teams of six each, without being bound by nationality. From August, they will carry out a mission to directly produce short films of up to five minutes on the theme of “Food” at the “Budapest” location in Hungary for two weeks.

Surprising support for participants also draws attention. All finalists will receive full coverage for round-trip airfare and lodging costs, as well as all local living and activity expenses. The organizers plan to inspire creative drive by selecting excellent works from the completed films and awarding a total prize of 18 million won.

University students who wish to participate must submit an English self-introduction video and an English essay through the official website of the film festival by the 3rd of next month. With the event aimed at a global audience, language ability and creative thinking are expected to be key evaluation criteria.
