Netflix announced on the 14th through its official website Toodoom that, working with global entertainment company AEG Presents, it is planning and producing a global tour inspired by ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’.
At an upfront event held in New York, the Netflix Chief Advertising Officer Amy Reinhard said, “Even now, ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ remains the most popular film on Netflix,” adding, “This will be an opportunity for fans to experience the characters and music they love even more closely.”
This tour will bring the magical forces and golden-hued energy from the movie to the real world through a live stage show. In particular, attention from fans around the world is focused on whether real cast members—including Lee Jae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, who voiced the girl group Huntix in the drama—will take the stage, along with the demonic boy group Sajaboyz , among others. Specific tour dates and host cities will be revealed later this year.
Meanwhile, ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ is a work depicting the exploits of a girl group that protects the human world from evil spirits. At the 83rd Golden Globe Awards and this year’s Academy Awards, it swept the award for Best Animated Feature. Its theme song ‘Golden’ also dominated the Grammy Awards, proving both artistic merit and mass appeal at the same time. Since its release, it has remained in the Netflix English-language films Top 10 for 47 weeks, sustaining long-term box-office momentum.
