Jeremy Clarkson Shocks With Cancer Diagnosis, Saying It’s an Aggressive Cancer but ‘Very Early’

The well-known British broadcaster and legendary host of the globally popular automotive reality shows ‘Top Gear’ and ‘The Grand Tour,’ Jeremy Clarkson, shared the shocking news that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

■ A tearful confession on reality TV… “It’s cancer, but I’ll be OK”

On the 17th (local time), according to British media outlets including the BBC, the latest episode of Amazon Prime Original documentary reality series ‘Clarkson’s Farm,’ released that day, marked the first time the public learned that Jeremy Clarkson is battling cancer.

In the episode, Clarkson called in co-star and farm partner Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland, then quietly confessed about his health. His colleagues, who learned of the sudden blow, showed an unmistakably strong shock.

In front of the camera, Clarkson said, “A while back, I quietly went to the hospital and had a biopsy, and I received a diagnosis that it’s cancer.” He added that it is “an aggressive” type, but “fortunately it was discovered at a really early stage.” He also noted that he had already known this since “May.”

He seemed to want to reassure shocked colleagues and viewers, saying with emphasis, “I promise you, I’m going to get better.” Still, he hinted at a temporary break, saying he “probably needs to pause activities for a while (Out of action)” in order to fully recover and be cured.

Earlier, Clarkson also stirred concern among fans. On Tuesday evening, just hours before the episode was released worldwide, he posted a short video on his Instagram in which he warned fans in advance, “This episode is going to be somewhat hard to watch and heartbreaking.”

Clarkson’s health problems are not new. The currently airing Season 5 of ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ begins right from the first episode, focusing on the urgent health crisis he faced.

In October 2024, he underwent emergency surgery after sudden heart pain. At the time, he previously shared the frightening experience in a column he wrote for the Sunday Times, saying that “one of the arteries that supplies blood to the heart was completely blocked, and the second artery was getting blocked as well,” and that he had received a stent procedure to widen the narrowed blood vessel.

Not long after showing how he overcame his heart condition in this season, which was filmed across 2024 and 2025, he also revealed that he is battling cancer.
