Sho Kasamatsu has teamed up with Korean management and previewed even more intense activities.
Korean management company Star Platinum announced on June 26 that it has signed a contract with Japanese actor Sho Kasamatsu. Kasamatsu also shared his thoughts about the deal in a handwritten letter, telling audiences he plans to continue pursuing sincere acting work. Kasamatsu made a mark with Korean audiences by appearing in the film 〈Good News〉 and the drama 〈Taxi Driver 3: Model〉, among others. Debuting in 2013, he is a veteran actor who has worked for more than a decade, and he also has strong Korean language skills, earning love calls from Korean film directors, PDs, and producers. He has wrapped filming for the movies 〈Men...〉 and 〈The Disturbance〉, and is currently preparing for the release of a new work.
Kasamatsu announced the new contract and directly released a handwritten note. He wrote, “I grew up watching Korean works for a long time, and I’m so happy that I can work in Korea now. I want to enjoy working just as I’ve done so far—whether in Korea, Japan, or the United States.” He added, “I want to always do my best and take on challenges, whether the roles are big or small. Representatives and directors I haven’t met yet—please call me anytime, and I’ll go running to you with joy.” In the handwritten note he wrote in Korean, his deep affection for Korean content and his sincerity are conveyed as is.
He is currently preparing for the project after being cast in director Takashi Miike’s Hollywood project 〈Untitled Kyoto Project〉 alongside Charlie XCX, Milly Alcock, and Norman Reedus, among others. With this Korean management contract as the starting point, expectations are high for him to step up even more actively across borders.
