'Beagle Light' 'Miss Baek' — Kim Si-ae Reunites With Director Lee Ji-won, Cast as a Suspect Girl

The film ‘Beagle Light’ is director Lee Ji-won’s gripping family chronicle, in which the couple of top stars Joong-gu (Ryu Seung-ryong) and Nam-mi (Ha Ji-won) are thrown into a marital break after the sudden arrival of their daughter Dong-ju (Kim Si-ae), and then, eight years later, as Dong-ju gets caught up in a shocking incident, she stakes everything that remains and digs for the truth to save her.

In the movie ‘Miss Baek,’ Kim Si-ae played Kim Ji-eun, an abused child victim, leaving a powerful impression with emotional acting that reaches beyond her age. She conveyed the fear and wounds the child carried using only her eyes and facial expressions, moving viewers’ hearts. She also cemented her presence as a key figure who completes the tone of the work. After ‘Miss Baek,’ Kim Si-ae reunites with director Lee Ji-won for ‘Beagle Light’ as Dong-ju, a girl cornered at the edge of a cliff after the death of her friend, when she is suddenly labeled a suspect. Dong-ju, who unexpectedly enters Joong-gu’s life and becomes part of the family, gets pulled into the death case of a student at Woo-rimcheon Middle School and faces suspicion from the world itself. Together with her families who are trying to protect her, she confronts a massive truth. By delicately depicting Dong-ju’s anxiety and confusion as her ordinary life crumbles due to an unexpected incident, and her internal change as she finally decides to face the truth, Kim Si-ae is set to lead the film’s emotional trajectory. Kim Si-ae, who portrayed Dong-ju’s complex psychology—woven together with guilt, despair, and fear—at a fine-grained level, is expected to guide the emotional arc of the work and deliver deep empathy and lingering aftertaste to audiences.
