An unprecedented 100-day reign—new K-pop power that has taken over Spotify
Cortis’ mega hit track “REDRED” has reached the milestone of its 100th No. 1 on South Korea’s daily Spotify chart, breaking the all-time record for the most wins by a “K-pop group”. The label “Bighit Music” explained on the 13th, “This is a key indicator that goes beyond simply holding the charts for a long time and symbolizes established mass appeal within the global music market.”
Previously, “REDRED” took the 70th No. 1 on the same chart as of Dec. 12 last month, setting the record for the most accumulated No. 1s. In just a little over a month, the group has added a historic 100th victory—surpassing even the limits of its own performance.
The heat behind its long-running popularity also shows clearly in weekly charts and global indicators. On the “Weekly Top Song Korea” chart, it has pulled off the feat of maintaining the No. 1 spot for a remarkable 15 straight weeks. On the “Weekly Top Song Global” chart as well, it has held a place on the chart for 15 consecutive weeks, firmly embedding itself in playlists of listeners worldwide.
Fueled by this explosive surge in streaming, “Cortis”’s “monthly listener count” on Spotify has easily surpassed 12.9 million. With its dazzling fanbase energy now solidified as a mainstream pick, the world’s music industry is watching closely to see what new record the group will write next.
