The 72-hour rule and an original world brought to the screen
Actor Koo Kyo-hwan transforms into an unprecedented job seeker who wakes up again 72 hours after dying, marking his first full-fledged action performance since his debut. Lotte Entertainment, the film's distributor, officially announced on the 19th that 'Revived Man: The Red', starring Koo, will hit theaters on the 30th of next month.
'Revived Man: The Red' follows Seok-hwan, a perpetual job seeker who discovers a supernatural ability hidden within him — 'resurrection 72 hours later' — after an accidental death. As an unidentified force relentlessly pursues him, he fights to survive. Adapted from the megahit webtoon of the same name by writers Chae Yong-taek and Kim Jae-han, the project has drawn intense attention throughout the film industry since its earliest planning stages.
Koo Kyo-hwan anchors the film as Seok-hwan, the protagonist who is armed with unfounded confidence. Above all, the film has sparked explosive public curiosity because it marks the first time in his career that he has taken on a full-fledged action role.
A strong supporting cast that adds depth to the film is another major draw. Shin Seung-ho, who demonstrated powerful chemistry with Koo Kyo-hwan in the Netflix original 'D.P.', joins the cast to heighten the tension. Veteran actors including Kang Ki-young, Kim Si-a and Kim Sung-ryoung, all acclaimed for their performances, further deepen the story.
Director Baek, who helmed 'Believer 2' (2023) and is known for an eye-catching visual style, is behind the camera. The film industry is watching to see how the director brings the original's dynamic energy to the screen.
