KATSEYE surges on U.K. charts for fifth straight week, with single at No. 17 and album at No. 24 in 'WILD' global breakout

K-pop keeps expanding its reach, taking over global charts

HYBE's Korean-American joint girl group 'KATSEYE' is shaking up the global music market with its new mini-album 'WILD', which has posted strong results on the U.K. Official Charts for five consecutive weeks. K-pop icon 'BTS' has also cemented its standing with the major milestone of appearing on the charts for 23 consecutive weeks.

According to the U.K. Official Charts released on Aug. 28 local time, 'ANIMAL', a track from KATSEYE's mini-album, landed at No. 17 on the Official Singles Chart Top 100, marking its fifth consecutive week on the chart. The title track, 'Hootie Frutti', also ranked No. 25 for a second straight week, while the mini-album 'WILD' itself took No. 24 on the Official Albums Chart Top 100.

The group's label said the album fully captures 'KATSEYE's' identity as it races toward instinct and freedom without being bound by the gaze of others. The five-track release is led by 'Hootie Frutti', whose sensual production has drawn attention, and also includes the pre-release single 'PINKY UP', 'ANIMAL', 'Bel Air', which showcases the group's mature vocal lines, and 'That Way', which conveys the bittersweet emotions of a breakup.

The long-running success of 'GOLDEN', an original soundtrack song from the Netflix animated film 'KPop Demon Hunters', is also drawing attention. The track ranked No. 52 on the Official Singles Chart Top 100, remaining on the chart for an impressive 62 consecutive weeks.

The power of global icons 'BTS' remains on full display. Its fifth album, 'ARIRANG', ranked No. 92 on the Official Albums Chart Top 100, extending its remarkable run to 23 consecutive weeks on the chart.
