‘BTS’ dominate the ‘Billboard Hot 100’ with their 5th studio album ‘ARIRANG’… A new chapter in K-pop history

The group ‘BTS’ set an unprecedented record in the history of the U.S. ‘Billboard Hot 100’ with their fifth studio album ‘ARIRANG’. By having 13 songs enter the chart at the same time on the Billboard main singles chart, they proved the dominance of global pop once again.

According to Billboard’s announcement on the 30th (local time), the title track ‘SWIM’ shot straight to No. 1 on the ‘Billboard Hot 100’ immediately after its release. In total, 13 of the album’s 14 tracks entered the chart. This is the most entries by a K-pop artist for a single album, meaning ‘BTS’ accounted for 13% of the Hot 100—often called the “dream chart.”

  • ‘SWIM’ (SWIM) - No. 1

  • ‘BODY TO BODY’ - No. 25

  • ‘Hooligan’ - No. 35

  • ‘FYA’ - No. 36

  • ‘Normal’ - No. 41

  • ‘Aliens’ - No. 47

  • ‘2.0’ - No. 50

  • ‘Merry-Go-Round’ - No. 52

  • ‘Like Animals’ - No. 53

  • ‘Don’t Know About Us’ - No. 56

  • ‘One More Night’ - No. 61

  • ‘Please’ - No. 63

  • ‘Into the Sun’ - No. 68

The only track that failed to chart was ‘No.29’, which includes the sound of the Bell of King Seongdeok. A well-known chart-analytics outlet, ‘Chart Data’, analyzed that while the song met the sales-quantity criteria, it was excluded from the tally because it contains no lyrics and has a short playtime.

In addition, ‘BTS’ swept both the top 1–9 on the ‘Global 200’ chart and the top 1–10 on the global chart excluding the U.S., showcasing overwhelming streaming power. Their momentum isn’t just a hit—it’s reshaping the landscape of the global music industry.
