Yoo Hae-jin expressed his gratitude after receiving the Grand Prize at the Baeksang Arts Awards.

Actor Yoo Hae-jin discussed the film 〈Assassins〉 during a roundtable interview on Sept. 11. Speaking about winning the film category’s Grand Prize at the Baeksang Arts Awards on May 8, he began by saying, “I’m truly grateful that so many people were genuinely happy for me.”

He continued, “I saw the comments on that YouTube video. There were so many of them, and I was truly amazed and grateful.” He added, “Every person I met at the time kept telling me, ‘I cried.’ I could feel how grateful they were and how they were celebrating with me to that extent.” His eyes reddened with emotion. He then drew laughs by adding, “Everything was great except for the person who commented that my acceptance speech was clumsy.”

The film 〈Assassins〉 follows Detective Cheol-gu (Yoo Hae-jin), social affairs desk chief Jae-hwan (Park Hae-il) and rookie social affairs reporter Young-il (Lee Min-ho) as they pursue the 1974 attempted assassination of the president and the suspicions surrounding the case. It opens Sept. 23.
