Gen Z icon who shook up global pop scene arrives in Korea
Singer-songwriter and producer Malcolm Todd, one of the most closely watched figures in the U.S. music scene, is finally coming to Korea. Live Nation Korea, the concert promoter, officially announced on the 14th that Todd will hold his first solo concert in Korea on Dec. 2 at Myunghwa Live Hall in Seoul.
Malcolm Todd’s musical journey traces one of the most successful trajectories in modern popular music. The songs Art House and Roommates, released through the global short-form video platform TikTok in 2023, went explosively viral and quickly captured the attention of listeners around the world.
His momentum extended beyond a one-off social media hit. After demonstrating his distinctive soundscape with the 2024 mixtape Sweet Boy, he followed it the next year with his self-titled debut album, Malcolm Todd, which entered the U.S. Billboard 200 at No. 49.
The rise continues. His second studio album, Do That Again, released this year, earned overwhelming critical acclaim and reached a career-high No. 5 on the Billboard 200 in its first week. For Korean music fans, the concert promises an especially rare experience: a performance taking place just after Todd has stormed the upper reaches of the Billboard chart.
