Paju Book City’s ‘Poiesis’ Fall Music Listening Sessions: Six Masters Reveal Stories Behind the Music

Five-day journey into the catharsis of sound, experienced through the finest audio

A deep and weighty perspective on music is converging at ‘Paju Book City.’ The Association of Paju Book City Resident Companies said it will hold a special music listening event, ‘Poiesis: The Summit of Listening,’ for five days from Nov. 9-13 on the first floor of ‘Ardium,’ a culture and arts cafe.

The event goes beyond simple listening, creating a space for intellectual engagement that combines high-end audio with in-depth commentary. The Paju Book City music club ‘Poiesis’ is organizing and operating the event, inviting six leading culture and arts experts from across different fields as speakers.

The lineup is truly formidable. Leading the group is ‘Lim Jin-mo,’ a towering figure in popular music criticism, joined by the incisive writer and photographer ‘Yoon Kwang-joon,’ and ‘Hong Seo-beom,’ a singer and consummate all-around artist. They will be joined by audio critic ‘Conan,’ who examines the essence of sound; actor and exhibition planner ‘Lee Kwang-gi,’ who displays an artistic sensibility across many fields; and music director ‘Kim Soo-han,’ a magician of delicate melodies. Together, they will bring a diverse range of perspectives.

After decades of listening to, performing, creating and evaluating music at the forefront of the field, the six speakers will openly share behind-the-scenes stories shaped by their individual philosophies, as well as their perspectives on the art of listening. The melodies filling the room through a top-of-the-line audio system will meet the masters’ vivid personal accounts, offering audiences an unprecedented depth of artistic inspiration.
