The Walt Disney Company Korea unveiled character stills on the 29th of Navier, played by Shin Min-a, the protagonist of Disney+’s new original series 〈The Remarried Empress〉 (directed by Jo Soo-won and written by Yeo Ji-na).
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, 〈The Remarried Empress〉 is a romantic fantasy drama about Navier, the perfect empress of the Eastern Empire. After Emperor Sovieshu, who has fallen for Rashta, a runaway slave, tells Navier he wants a divorce, she agrees on the condition that he approve her remarriage to Heinrey, prince of the Western Kingdom.
The newly released stills capture Navier’s multifaceted character, from her dignity as an imperial empress to her efforts to manage the complicated emotions that follow the divorce notice. Shin Min-a brings the character to life with a commanding gaze that holds firm to her convictions despite her turbulent wounds and confusion, along with striking hair and costume styling that completes her singular presence.
Director Jo Soo-won said, "The coldness in her eyes, within those warm emotions, suited Navier’s character well." Writer Yeo Ji-na also praised Shin Min-a, saying, "Navier gained a greater emotional range after meeting Shin Min-a."
Starring Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Se-young and Lee Jong-suk, the highly anticipated Disney+ original series 〈The Remarried Empress〉 is set to premiere Nov. 4.
