“I’m Living Through a K-Drama Melodrama Myself” — Showbox’s Star-Studded FMV Game *What the K-Drama?!* Is Coming

The star-studded FMV game 'What the K-Drama?!,' co-produced by Showbox and STORYTACO, is set for release in 2027.

The FMV (Full Motion Video) interactive game 'What the K-Drama?!' announced its upcoming release by unveiling its page on Steam, a PC gaming platform, on October 26. FMV interactive games let players watch footage filmed in real life and choose from options, allowing them to enjoy watching actors perform while directly participating in key story developments.

Showbox, a film investment, production and distribution company, joined the project as a co-producer, raising the quality of 'What the K-Drama?!' to a new level. Leading the cast is Lee Yu-bi, who delivered a memorable performance in the 〈Yumi's Cells〉 series. Also starring are Pyo Young-seo, who caught the eye of global viewers through 〈When Life Gives You Tangerines〉; Lee Song-kyung, active across various platforms; actress Yoo So-young, formerly of After School; popular influencer Pyo Eun-ji; and Angelina Danilova. Their appearances as key characters are fueling anticipation among gamers and fans of the cast.

In the first-person interactive FMV game 'What the K-Drama?!,' a real-life, ultrawealthy CEO enters the world of K-drama melodramas he used to dismiss and must survive as a chaebol family’s “disowned eldest son,” sidelined in the succession battle. A demo is scheduled for release this December, with the full game targeted for launch in the first half of 2027.
