Incheon Film Week 2026, a film festival hosted by Incheon Metropolitan City and organized by the Incheon Film Commission, concluded its three-day run from October 23 to 25.

Held at CGV Incheon Yeonsu under the slogan “We Are Each Other’s Future,” the festival screened 24 films from Korea and abroad exploring different visions of the future. Advance tickets for the opening ceremony, which featured a screening of the Indonesian film 〈Mothernet〉 and a celebratory performance by singer Kim Hyun-chul, sold out early. The advance booking rate for all screenings reached 80%, with nearly half of the films selling out, signaling strong interest even before the festival opened. During the event, lines for tickets at the venue stretched beyond the lobby.

The “Incheon Film Showcase” section, which spotlighted the local film ecosystem, drew particular attention as attendance rose sevenfold from last year. Films supported by the Incheon Film Commission and fresh works by young filmmakers from Incheon won praise. “Incheon Citizens’ Choice,” decided by a vote of Incheon residents, and lobby activity booths, including one for drawing visions of the future, added to the festival’s emphasis on public participation.

A range of film industry guests also enriched the festival. Actors Choi Su-in, Park Hye-jin and Lee Seung-yeon of 〈Mountain Goats〉, director Baek Seung-gi of 〈Long Take One Take Mistake〉, and director Jung Seung-o of 〈Coming of Age〉 met audiences for post-screening discussions. Song Kyung-won, editor-in-chief of Cine21, science-fiction critic Shim Wan-sun, and film critics Cho Hye-young, Joo Sung-chul, Kim So-mi and Cho Hyun-na also served as commentators for “Cine Talk,” adding depth to the discussions of the films.

Programmer Kim Kyung-tae said, “It was an opportunity to share different lives and experiences through film and think about the future we will build together.” He added, “I hope audiences found more than the joy of discovering new films—that they also discovered new possibilities where film meets Incheon, the setting for their lives.”
