〈White Blast〉

The second set of eight press stills from 〈White Blast〉, starring Kim Yun-seok and Koo Kyo-hwan and directed by Hong Eui-jeong and Park Sun-woo, captures a gripping incident at Seoro Station and the sharp clashes between its characters. Distributor Showbox unveiled the on-set images, which heighten the mystery and tension ahead of the film’s November 18 release.

〈White Blast〉 is a mystery drama set at Seoro Station, a rural train station cut off by heavy snow. A mysterious body is discovered in front of Gap-su (Kim Yun-seok), the stationmaster nearing retirement, and his newly appointed successor, Hyun-taek (Koo Kyo-hwan). The stills vividly capture the station’s bleak atmosphere and the expressions of characters caught up in unpredictable events. Gap-su holds a phone receiver, looking bewildered in the station office; Hyun-taek grips a broom in front of a snow-covered tunnel; and their silhouettes gathered beside a police car in the darkness create a chilling mood.

In particular, Gap-su’s wary stance as he aims a gun and Hyun-taek’s defiant grip on a shovel heighten curiosity about the rift between them. Their tense face-off and Hyun-taek’s chilling gaze as he calmly wipes blood from his face add to the psychological tension.

The arrival of police officers at Seoro Station to investigate the case also draws attention. Lieutenant Choi (Park Soo-young) faces Gap-su in the chaotic station office, while Officer Yang (Roh Yoon-seo), holding a paper cup, keenly watches Hyun-taek’s every move. Their presence hints that the case is entering a new phase.

〈White Blast〉, featuring the distinctive direction of Hong Eui-jeong and Park Sun-woo and the on-screen chemistry of leading Chungmuro actors Kim Yun-seok, Koo Kyo-hwan, Park Soo-young and Roh Yoon-seo, opens in theaters on November 18.
