‘Boot Camp 4’ Stars Step Out of the Drama and Into a Real Race at Imjingak
The Defense Media Agency officially announced on the 4th that cast members of ENA’s military drama ‘Boot Camp 4’ will make a special appearance at the 22nd Korea National Defense Daily’s ‘Comrades Marathon’, to be held on the 7th at Imjingak Peace Nuri Park in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.
Many of the stars praised for their vivid portrayal of military life in the series will take part. Seven actors — Kim Min-ho (Park Min-seok), Lee Hyun-kyun (battalion commander), Jang Sung-beom (Kim Dong-woo), Lee Sang-jin (Oh Seok-jin), Lee Chung-gu (Kim Sang-hoon), Kim Hyun-gyu (Sung Yoon-mo) and Kang Hyo-seung (Cha Byung-ho) — will take on the 10K course. They are expected to go beyond the screen, test their real-world endurance and build camaraderie with service members.
Director Min Jin-ki, who helmed the series, and actor Kim Yo-han (Moon Bit-na-ri) will compete in the 5K course, running alongside members of the public and service members. Their participation in an event symbolic of national defense, alongside the production team and cast, adds to its significance.
Now in its 22nd year, the Korea National Defense Daily’s ‘Comrades Marathon’ is held at Imjingak, a symbolic site for peace and security on the Korean Peninsula. It has become a major event drawing around 5,000 people, including South Korean service members, U.S. Forces Korea personnel and members of the public. The race is organized into two courses — 5K and 10K — to accommodate participants’ fitness levels.
