What would happen if a red line connecting the heads of people who have had sexual relationships became visible? The Wavve original drama <S Line> depicts the changes in humans that occur when the most intimate private lives are exposed to others, based on such provocative imagination.
In this work, there is no line above the head of a person who has no sexual experience, while hundreds of red lines ripple above the heads of those who have had multiple relationships, which is the core setting.
At the screening and production presentation held on the 7th at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, actor Lee Soo-hyuk, who plays the role of detective Ji-wook, explained, "It is a work that talks about how people's actions and attitudes change when very private areas are revealed."
The original work is a webtoon of the same name published in 2011 by the writer Kkobabi, who is famous for <A Killer Paradox>. In the webtoon, everyone could see the red lines, but in the drama, it has been adapted so that only some can see them.
Director Ahn Joo-young stated, "I love the original work very much, but I thought it would be difficult to visually implement a world covered in lines," and added, "I brought it into a worldview that can only be seen through the medium of glasses."

Director Ahn continued, "I thought the theme of the original work was the changing appearance of humans when they see the 'S Line'," adding, "I think the main story is about new desires arising through 'S Line', which led to the creation of new characters."
During the adaptation process, new characters were born, including Hyun-hyup (played by Arin), who can see the lines from birth, Seon-a (played by Lee Eun-saem), who obtains glasses to see the lines and uses them, and the enigmatic teacher Kyu-jin (played by Lee Da-hee), who tracks the truth of this bizarre story, among others.
Arin, an actress from the girl group Oh My Girl, attempted an acting transformation through this drama. She plays a character who locks her heart away and lives as a hikikomori (social recluse) after her mother kills her father due to the red line she sees.
Arin appeared in the drama with a short, uneven haircut that caught attention. She recalled, "I spent a lot of time researching the dark and lonely aspects to fit Hyun-hyup, and I tried my best to express Hyun-hyup, to the point that even the (Oh My Girl) members could feel how dark I was during that time."

The drama <S Line> gained international attention by winning the music award at the 'Cannes International Series Festival' in April, making it the first Korean work to do so.
Director Ahn explained, "<S Line> is a thriller with elements of fantasy," and stated, "I asked music director Lee Joon-oh to create music differently from a typical thriller, and since the atmosphere changes with each episode, I requested variations."
Actor Lee Soo-hyuk recalled the surprising experience of winning the award. "At first, when the director said we had to go to Cannes, I thought, 'He must have filmed another project in the meantime. Congratulations,' but then he said we had to go together," he said. He added, "I was told that we had to stay until the closing ceremony as an official competition entry, and when our work's name was called, I couldn't believe it as I was there without any expectations."
Arin said, "I heard that you can take up to two Cheongshim pills abroad, so I packed them," and laughed, saying, "I took both pills with me."
This work, which first drew attention for winning an overseas award, is set to be released sequentially in the country starting from the 11th. It plans to meet viewers over a total of 6 episodes, airing 2 episodes each Friday.
