The Japanese film <Travel and Days> starring actress Eun-kyung Shim has been officially invited to the international competition section of the 78th Locarno Film Festival, one of the world's top three international film festivals, as announced by the distributor Etnine Film on the 10th.

Based on the manga of the same name by Yoshiharu Tsuge, this work is a drama that delicately captures the inner changes experienced by the protagonist 'I' (played by Eun-kyung Shim) as she meets the innkeeper Benzo (played by Shin'ichi Tsutsumi) in a snowy region during her travels.

The film is directed by Sho Miyake, a Japanese director who has been invited to the Berlin International Film Festival with three consecutive works: <Your Bird Can Sing> (2020), <If You Look Into Your Eyes> (2023), and <All of Dawn> (2024).

Eun-kyung Shim expressed her thoughts on the invitation, stating, "It is an honor to be part of the beautiful world of director Sho Miyake."

The selection committee of the Locarno Film Festival reportedly evaluated this work as "a piece that showcases the highest level of Japanese cinema," stating, "It delicately portrays the essence of humanity."
