Netflix 〈Physical:100〉 Confirmed for U.S. Production!...European Version in Preparation

The Netflix variety show 〈Physical:100〉, which started in Korea and gained global popularity, will be produced as a localized version in the U.S. Netflix officially announced the production plan for 〈Physical:100 USA〉 (tentative title) on the 16th.

In the U.S. version, 100 participants selected from across North America, including athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and military veterans, will gather to compete in a survival competition testing extreme physical abilities. This will maintain the same format as the original, where 100 participants compete for victory while exploring what the best physique is.

Yoo Gi-hwan, Netflix's Non-Fiction Director, stated, "We will realize the global expansion of our variety shows and provide a different kind of fun compared to Korea's 〈Physical:100〉."

〈Physical:100〉 is a Netflix original variety show planned and directed by PD Jang Ho-gi, who was part of the MBC documentary team in 2023. It gained attention as an innovative content that broke the boundaries between terrestrial TV and online video services (OTT).

This program set a record by becoming the first Korean variety show to rank first in the Netflix non-English show category. The following year's season 2, 〈Physical:100-Underground〉, also ranked first in the same category, proving its continued popularity.

Netflix is set to release 〈Physical:Asia〉 in the fourth quarter of this year, featuring participants like Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao competing in a national competition.

Netflix has announced that, following the Asian and U.S. versions, a European regional version of 〈Physical:100〉 in the same format is also in preparation.
